I run this blog on the subversion-version of pyblosxom. This usually works great, and code keeps working.. but a few days ago it didn't. After looking at the problem for a while I figured it out: subversion neglected to mention that there were conflicts during the latest update. Or it did mention it.. just not in an obvious way.

It also modifies your original files and replaces them with a some patchwork (full of "<<<") of the conflicting revisions. Which breaks stuff.

I guess using bzr spoiled me...

Someone complained to me about my RSS feed being broken.. for some reason his reader doesn't allow <author> fields with email-addresses between &lt; and &gt;. I've changed it to emailaddress (Name), but I feel like this is a bug in his RSS parser (I escaped the <s and >s for a reason).

Or did I just land in double-escape hell and should I use crazy stuff like &amp;amp;lt;, even though Feed Validator thinks my feed is valid?

Update: It seems that Planet Ubuntu is un-escaping, but then does not re-escape when it writes its own feed. Also, it doesn't seem to pick up the change I made to my <author> fields.
